Our Mission.

Westchester Ballet Company (WBC) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring excellence in ballet while making the art form accessible to all.

Through tuition-based pre-professional training, professionally produced performance opportunities, and free recreational ballet classes supported by public and private funding, WBC provides dancers of all backgrounds with meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the transformative power of ballet.

We are nurturing extraodinary human beings.

Westchester Ballet Company (WBC) is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of our community through the art of ballet. WBC is committed to nurturing excellence and eliminating barriers by serving three core constituencies in and around Westchester County, NY:

·       Approximately 100 local children in the public schools who receive no-cost ballet classes in our after-school program administered in collaboration with the United Way of Westchester and Putnam.

·       Approximately 75 children in the community, aged 3 - 18, who attend no-cost ballet classes in our studios through a program funded by the Westchester Country Youth Bureau.

·       Approximately 65 young dancers annually, ages 6-18, who receive specialized pre-professional training and performance opportunities in professionally produced ballets marketed to the general public. Annual performances include The Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, and other repertory ballets.

·       Thousands of audience members each year who attend our affordable, public performances.

How we bring our mission to life:

·       Eliminating financial barriers by providing financial aid and scholarships for dancers
·       Maintaining affordable ticket prices for audience members
·       Partnering with other nonprofits serving children and families in the community

WBC Dancers train with us and also with other ballet schools throughout the region. Dancers become members of Westchester Ballet Company through open auditions that are held each year in September and January. Participation fees apply. Company dancers are eligible for merit scholarships and financial assistance that can be applied toward participation fees or tuition at the school or ballet training program of the dancer’s choosing.
